Private, one on one instruction to help you improve your English skills. We can also offer assistance in preparing for the citizenship test.

We provide all materials, curriculum and training.
Our ESL students and tutors enjoy participating in our conversation classes. It's a great way to meet people and connect with our local community.

Yes! All classes and materials are free. We simply ask that you return the books when you are ready for higher level books, just as you would in a library.
Classes are taught at various locations in our community, including the Bloomington and Normal Public Libraries. Times vary, depending on your schedule.
Yes! We host training sessions for new tutors and are there for you every step of the way! There is no experience necessary to become a STAR tutor.
Tutors and students meet once a week for about one hour. Tutoring sessions can be done in-person at a library or other public location or virtually, and can be worked around your schedule.
